We are still kicking it here in Reno. We have a lot of time on our hands. I read a book, big accomplishment for me. It was called "The Wednesday Letters". It was a sweet little story, kept my attention, which is a big task in itself. I have also been doing Billy Blanks Extreme Taebo(Jordan joins in from time to time too), I highly reccommend it to anyone that wants cardio and weights in one fun, sweaty workout. We fly to Omaha on Saturday for a quick visit with my family, I am super excited and hope the weather cooperates (most likely it will not).
Last night we went over to a family friends house to go caroling and eat soup and salad after. At first, I was having a potty attitude about going caroling because I was hungry. I am so glad I went. We drove up to the last little apartment. It wasn't in the greatest part of town. The apartments were sort of old and run down. A group of about 20 of us knocked on this lady's door. I saw her slowly walking across her living room, with assistance from her walker. She was wearing a long pink floral night gown, and had some clips in her old gray hair. The cutest little old lady I have seen in a long time. When she opened the door her face lit up so bright. We sang jingle bells, and then started into Silent Night. I could see her eyes well up with tears, and she was smiling the sweetest smile at everyone. I was getting so choked up I could hardly sing. Sometimes I forget about how many things I really have. A FAMILY to spend christmas with, friends around constantly, gifts under the christmas tree, a healthy body, food in my belly. I couldn't help walking away feeling a little ache in my heart for this sweet lady who had no one to spend the cold, wintery evening with. I think I had forgotten how good it feels to do a small, simple act of service that can mean the world to one person. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a fun filled chrismas week, Love you all!
..Christmas pictures coming soon hopefully..
